COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause hesitation to Ugandas Food Security among the needy households. Many people were affected by the nationwide lock down, they have no food among other pressing basic needs. Obiya palaro team exericsed a relief food distribution in all the villages under the parish vicinity of Unyama, Kinene, Bucoro, Bwobo, Awic, Ariaga East, Ariaga Central, Palaro Rajab and Lawiyedul.
The food relief was meant for the elderly, persons living with HIV, the sickly and the homeless who received food rations that included 10kg of maize flour per person, 5kg of beans per person, 2and half bars of soap, and 3 packets of salt per person. But they said “please add for us more this is not enough”
They were very happy for Obiya Palaro Parish, St.Mauritz Uganda.hilfe.ev and Diocese of Muenster( Bistum) f thinking about them. One of the needy people “ Laker Lina, said we thank the Parish Priest of thinking of us the needy people in his parish and our friends from Germany. please kevin go back and tell them as she narrated”
The exercise the project officer and the catechists of obiya palaro had a great impact on the community evidenced by some people who said that the Parish was their saviour that they would now eat posho and beans.
We are grateful for the support you are rendering to us in obiya palaro.
